Fear of starting

Scared to start a business—usually scared to be seen selling, not scared of paperwork

Fear of starting is rarely fear of Companies House. It is fear of putting a price in public and being judged by people who know you. Courses then sell more hiding: more planning, more branding, more delay. The cheap experiment is a scoped offer and a written yes or no—not a secret project that never ships.

We build operational businesses. Start the Launch Plan — £295 — with an idea, a skill, an interest, or none.

No polished pitch needed · No payment until you choose to book

What-if-my-business-fails is the downside after launch. This page is the freeze before anything exists. I’m-not-an-entrepreneur is the identity costume. Keep them distinct. Here the work is getting something small enough into the world that the fear has a fact to argue with.

We will not give you a pep talk. We will give you a commercial sequence: buyer, artefact, price, journey. The price is said out loud in a private session before it is public. That is enough courage for most extra-income starts. Performative bravery is optional.

£295 includes a seven-day cooling-off before we meet: full refund if you cancel. That exists for this search. If fear was only a mood, leave. If fear is the thing blocking a real extra-income attempt, stay.

No guaranteed income. No audience you must grow before you are ‘ready’. Ready is a tested path, not a feeling.

Fear often asks for more research. Research without a decision is how a year disappears. The Launch Plan is a decision with a document. It is smaller than a public launch and larger than another saved article. That is the size fear can usually tolerate.

You can tell people you are ‘exploring’ without publishing. Exploring without a date becomes hiding. We will put a date on the session. You can still cancel inside cooling-off. After that, the work is to decide, not to soothe. Another saved article will not say the price for you, and neither will another webinar replay you watch at midnight.

Fear of starting is usually fear of being seen selling

Friends, ex-colleagues, and LinkedIn are the imagined audience. Most will not buy. A few might. The buyer you need is probably not them. We write copy for the stranger with the problem, not for the people whose opinion you are managing.

You can launch without a personal-brand documentary. A professional site with a clear offer is enough. Hiding behind a vague ‘coming soon’ is how the fear wins.

The cheap experiment is a written no, not a secret Shopify

A store nobody can find is not safety. It is delay with a monthly fee. The Launch Plan produces a document you can keep even if you never build. That is the cheap experiment: decide whether the offer deserves a public URL.

If the brief says no, you have not failed in public. You have spent a bounded amount to avoid a larger waste. That is what fear, handled commercially, looks like.

What courage is not: a weekend of logos

Decoration soothes. It does not test demand. We delay identity work until the promise can be said without flinching. If you cannot say the price, we should not design a colour palette.

Tools make decoration faster. They do not make the flinch go away. The flinch eases when a stranger can complete a journey you helped design, in a session that happens in private before anything is public.

A small public offer beats a perfect private plan

One journey. One artefact. Hours you can keep. Typically four to six weeks after you approve. You still have to press publish. We will not press it while you hide.

If you wanted a coach to manage the feeling, we still start with a priced offer. If you wanted a founder to build the vehicle, that is this product: profile, session, brief, then a live extra-income presence if you continue.

Private domains that never see a stranger

A domain in a drawer is not a start. It is a fee. We put a small offer on a professional URL a stranger can finish. The session happens in private first. Cooling-off is a full refund before we meet.

Research as a hiding place

Another podcast will not name your buyer. Another template will not say your price. If you have been researching for a year, you do not need more inputs. You need a written yes or no. That is this product.

Who this is for

  • People who have delayed a start because being seen selling feels worse than staying employed
  • Those who will accept a small public offer instead of a perfect private plan

What you leave with

A first public extra-income offer small enough to ship, with a private one-to-one session first and cooling-off before we meet.

One-to-one with the founder. Start with an idea — or with none. Typically 4–6 weeks after direction is approved. Income goals are ambitions, not guarantees. We help you build a credible business ready to reach customers—not promise specific earnings.

Common questions

What if I freeze and cancel?

If we have not yet held the session, the seven-day cooling-off is a full refund. After the session, the Launch Plan is a completed advisory service and you keep the brief.

Do I have to put my face on the website?

No. You need a professional presence and a way to get paid. A portrait is optional. A priced offer is not.
