No polished pitch needed · No payment until you choose to book
Most ‘start a shop’ results sell platforms. The platform is not the business. The business is what you sell, to whom, at what price, and why they should not go to Amazon.
If the honest offer is a service or a focused productised product, we will say so. We still build a customer-facing site with a journey that can take payment or enquiry.
Dropshipping catalogues with no brand are a weak vehicle. We build a proper business you can run for extra income. Typically 4–6 weeks after direction is approved.
An online shop is retail. Someone buys a thing—or a tightly productised thing—through a cart and a checkout. That is different from an online business as a channel (which might be booking), and different from a service business (delivery of an outcome). Starting an online shop means you have a reason a buyer should not go to Amazon, a catalogue you can actually fulfil, and a payment path that completes. Most search results sell platforms. The platform is not the shop. A thin Shopify theme with supplier copy is not a shop worth starting. Typical build is four to six weeks after direction is approved. Billed in GBP. No income guarantee.
If the honest offer is a service, we will say so and we will not force a cart onto it. If the honest offer is a focused product you can stand behind, we build a customer-facing shop or a simple purchase journey you own. Dropshipping catalogues with no brand are a weak extra-income vehicle. You can start with an idea or with none; we will not invent a 200-SKU store because ‘shop’ was in the query. We do not register companies. We do not give tax advice. Stock, shipping and returns remain operating problems you must be willing to own.
Shop, service or hybrid—the offer comes first
Some people need a cart. Others need booking. We choose the journey that matches the offer, not the other way around.
Your site, your customer
Marketplace accounts can help later. Day one should not depend on Amazon’s rules. We build a shop or site you own.
An online shop is retail: someone buys a thing through a cart
Retail has inventory logic even when the inventory is print-on-demand or a tiny handmade run. Someone has to fulfil. Someone has to handle the broken parcel. If you do not want that work, you do not want a shop—you want a service business. We will not flatter a shop fantasy if you are really selling your time. The cart is a clue: if the unit is hours, booking is the journey. If the unit is a SKU, the cart is the journey.
Starting the shop therefore begins with the unit. What is the thing. Who wants it. Why not the marketplace default. What is the price after fees and postage. If those answers are mush, a theme will not save you. The Launch Plan is £295 of that honesty. Continue within fourteen days toward £2,495. We build a professional presence and a working purchase or enquiry path. We do not become your warehouse.
Shop versus service: choosing the journey before the theme
Themes exist for shops and for services. Choosing the theme first is how people end up with a cart and nothing to put in it, or a shop menu on a consultancy. We choose the journey first. Shop: catalogue, cart, checkout, fulfilment rules. Service: package, booking or payment, delivery rules. Hybrid only if it is real—one productised add-on, not a mall. Extra pages that do not convert are delay dressed as range.
Platform choice follows the shop journey. You do not need Shopify because a YouTuber said so. You need a way to take money and a site you own. Marketplace accounts can wait. Day one of an online shop should not depend on a platform that can close the stall. Typically four to six weeks after you approve direction. Founder-led. You operate fulfilment. We do not pick, pack or run ads.
Why a thin Shopify catalogue is not starting an online shop
Thin catalogues are imported products, imported descriptions, and a store that looks like twenty others. Buyers have no reason to trust you. Returns will hurt. Ads will be expensive. That is not a shop; it is a listing farm. We would rather you launch one productised offer with a story you can defend than a grid of anonymous SKUs. If that means we talk you out of a shop, the brief did its job.
A real online shop can be small. Small is allowed. Fifty indifferent products are not better than three you can explain. Leanness belongs on another page; here the point is retail integrity. Idea or none: we still will not build a clone of a supplier’s storefront. Extra income from a shop is still not guaranteed. Shops fail in public when the catalogue is dishonest. We will not help you fail that way.
Stock, dropshipping, and a shop people have a reason to use
Stock ties up money. Dropshipping ties you to someone else’s delay and branding. Print-on-demand sits in between and still needs a reason to buy from you. We will name the trade-offs. We will not sell you a dropshipping dream as a business. If the only advantage is ‘I found a supplier’, there is no shop. The reason to use you has to be the offer, the trust, the niche, or the service wrapped around the product.
After go-live, first customers are still usually conversations and a small audience, not a Facebook shop fantasy. We include thirty days of guidance in the full build so checkout and operating rules are not theoretical. We do not guarantee sales. We do not file your VAT because you opened a cart. Begin the profile when you want a retail shop with a reason to exist—not a theme, and not a service in a basket costume.
Who this is for
- People who want an online shop as a real business
- Those who have rejected generic dropshipping kits
What you leave with
A retail shop with a reason to buy: offer, owned site, working checkout—not a thin theme, a cloned catalogue, or a service business forced into a cart.
One-to-one with the founder. Start with an idea — or with none. Typically 4–6 weeks after direction is approved. Income goals are ambitions, not guarantees. We help you build a credible business ready to reach customers—not promise specific earnings.
Common questions
Do I need Shopify to start an online shop?
You need a way to take payment and a reason to buy. The platform is a tool. We build the commercial shop—offer, site and journey—around what you should actually sell.
Will you recommend dropshipping?
Rarely as the core extra-income vehicle. A catalogue with no brand and no fulfilment control is weak. If a focused productised offer holds, we can discuss fulfilment options honestly. We will not sell a dropshipping kit. No income is guaranteed either way.
What if I actually need a service business, not a shop?
Then we will say so in the Launch Plan. Forcing a cart onto delivery of an outcome wastes the build weeks. Use the service-business page if you already know. Typical timeline is four to six weeks after approval. £295 then £2,495 credited within fourteen days. Billed in GBP.
